Alcahest (錬金術師 Renkinjutsushi) is an action role-playing game for the Nintendo Super Famicom, developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Square. The game was released in 1993 in Japan, and has never been released in other markets. It is notable for being one of the first home console RPGs that used a password system.

After 24 years, a small game studio known as Tookiekat studios made a fan-sequel. They said"We will fight for the rights or buy them from SQUARE." The relese date is TBA . it is said to be only in Japanese like the previous title, and staying in the 2nd dimension. It is also said to be a flash game exclusive.
