Gren Kutz is one of the playable characters of the Tobal series. He is the young heir to the Kutz Foundation within planet Tobal, a British boxing champion in London, England within planet Earth, the current winner of the 98th Tournament and the rival of Chuji Wu.
Appearance[]
Gren is a young British man with short blond hair with a full fringe and blue eyes. His head covered with a green beanie.
His main outfit throughout both Tobal and Tobal 2 has him wearing a bright green gi with a dark blue long sleeved undershirt underneath. He also has a sign of a yellow Chinese logo at the back of his gi, a matching gi pants with an orange sash and green boots. Gren also wears green gloves with red triangular design. In Tobal 2, his gi are now yellow green and his sash are yellow. The Chinese logo at the back of his gi are replaced by his imprinted name.
His secondary outfit was his winter casual attire consisting of a navy blue thermal jacket with a black trim, a light red mock turtleneck underneath, blue gray jeans and black boots and red socks. His beanie appears navy blue to match up his outfit.
In Tobal 2, his secondary outfit from his first outfit was replaced. He wears a traditional outfit worn by Scottish people in Britain; a blue military tunic adorned with a red cape as the cape reach through his butt, a traditional black skirt with his black briefs underneath and orange boots with a black triangular design and a green knee-high socks.
His ending has him wearing his corporate outfit similar to modern British men, a charcoal gray formal suit jacket with a matching formal vest, a white long sleeved button-up shirt with a dark teal long necktie on the collar, a charcoal gray slacks and black loafers. Gren is not seen wearing a beanie during the scene.
Story[]
Tobal No.1[]
Born on planet Earth, Gren Kutz lives in London, England where he became the great British boxing champion. He is also the young heir to the Kutz Foundation and enters the 98th Tournament to test his fighting skills as well as battling his rival Chuji Wu.
Tobal 2[]
Gren became the head of Kutz Foundation after canonically winning the 98th Tournament by defeating Emperor Udan, the Emperor of Martial Arts. His foundation was responsible for their corrupted practices by selfishly buying the mines and creating various crimes on the planet Tobal. Seeing to ruin the honor and reputation of the Kutz family name, Gren left the planet Tobal to investigate his foundation's corrupted activities and decided to join the 99th Tournament to clear up his family name after being tarnished by his own foundation. His rival Chuji also enters to stop him, thinking he was mainly responsible for selfishly buying the mines and its corrupted practices as his foundation was the real mastermind behind it and Galaxy Patrol agent, Chaco Yutani was sent in the tournament by her superiors to investigate his foundation's recent actions.
Ending Description:
At his study room, Gren is revealed to live in a suburban mansion while studying of how he can handled the right way of business within his foundation. Getting bored over his studies, he takes a peek to check the hallways consisted of several doors from different rooms because his butler is always present to check upon him. With this, he practices boxing including exercises and push ups. Just as his butler opens the door to his study room, Gren was seen studying on his desk, not to find out his feats as a fighter and the butler serves him some tea as it zooms to show his mansion and the whole island with the sign of G within planet Tobal.
Gameplay[]
Gren's fighting style is labeled as Boxing as his actual fighting style is in fact MMA-styled Kickboxing. Gren utilizes both punches and kicks as some of his punches can deal heavy damage along with his powerful hook punch. One of his moves can also deal more heavy damage if he executed a powerful heel drop that unleashes a zoning projectile.
Trivia[]
- Gren's appearance is a mixture between Trunks and Goten from their teenage appearance in the Peaceful World Saga of Dragon Ball Z and the movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
- His main outfit bears a resemblance to the same gi worn by Future Gohan during Trunks's flashback of Dragon Ball Z episode "Nightmare Comes True" and Dragon Ball Super during the "Future" Trunks saga and the movie History of Trunks. Only he wore gloves instead of wristbands.
- His current fighting style is later shared with Yugo Ogami, the main protagonist of the Bloody Roar series as both men are known to use the fighting style Kickboxing. However starting from Bloody Roar 3 onward, Yugo takes more focus on punching his opponents on his boxing fighting style.
